Job summary

The University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee, Lubar College of Business, seeks an Event Manager to lead planning, execution, and evaluation of college events, from receptions to competitions, with a focus on budgets, scheduling, and stakeholder coordination.

You will manage calendars, craft event plans in Asana, coordinate vendors and venues, and collaborate with Marketing to promote events, while maintaining fiscal compliance and on-site management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum of four years of professional experience planning and coordinating events, programs, executive-level meetings, or similar activities.
• Demonstrated ability to independently coordinate events or projects from planning through follow-up.
• Experience managing multiple events with overlapping timelines and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Monitors the budget and approves expenditures.
• Establishes and executes day-to-day operational functions and goals of events.
• Maintains event calendars and planning systems; coordinates room/venue reservations, catering, and A/V.
• Creates and distributes post-event surveys and analyzes findings for stakeholders.
• Manages communications with event personnel and updates stakeholders weekly.
• Oversees the collection of RSVPs and ensures timely follow-up.
• Supports a wide range of events across the College of Business, including receptions, awards, meetings, and webinars.
• Day-of event responsibility and post-event evaluation are included; some early morning/evening/weekend work may be required.
• Provides on-site management and responds to issues during events.
