Job summary

University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee is seeking an Event Specialist in Milwaukee, WI to support planning, coordination, and execution of Advancement events that engage alumni, donors, and campus partners. This role emphasizes high-quality experiences, donor stewardship, and institutional pride.

Reporting to the Advancement Event Manager, you will help organize signature events, alumni programs, and campus celebrations. Occasional evenings and weekends are required to meet event needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Experience supporting events, programs, customer service, hospitality, alumni relations, fundraising, marketing, or related work.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and logistics.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute annual signature Advancement events and donor recognition events.
• Coordinate event logistics: timelines, reservations, catering, rentals, signage, parking, registration, supplies, A/V, and vendor communication.
• Assist with setup, staffing, guest check-in, troubleshooting, and post-event wrap-up.
• Maintain event planning documents, schedules, supply lists, and run-of-show materials.
• Work with campus partners to ensure events align with goals and brand.
