Job summary

Valcourt Group is seeking an Estimator in Atlanta to prepare accurate estimates for bid opportunities, review drawings and specifications, and coordinate pricing with vendors and subcontractors. The role supports field conditions, schedules, and execution needs while aligning bids with scope and margins.

Candidate will work under the Pre-Construction Manager or Senior Estimator and participate in internal reviews and post-bid follow-up, maintaining organized estimate files and bid history.

Qualifications

• Mid-level estimating experience with moderate supervision.
• Working knowledge of plan reading, takeoffs, and bid documentation.
• Ability to coordinate pricing input and identify scope gaps.

Responsibilities

• Prepare estimates for assigned projects per branch standards and margin expectations.
• Review drawings, specifications, addenda, and other bid documents to understand scope and identify gaps.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and apply labor, material, equipment pricing assumptions.
• Solicit vendor and subcontractor pricing to confirm coverage and competitiveness.
• Prepare bid forms, proposal language, inclusions, exclusions, alternates, and clarifications for review.
• Coordinate with sales and operations on field conditions, schedule considerations, access constraints, and project execution needs.
• Participate in internal estimate reviews, handoff meetings, and post-bid follow-up.
• Maintain organized estimate files, pricing records, takeoff documentation, and bid history.
