Job summary

Valcourt Group in Atlanta, GA is seeking a mid-level Estimator to prepare accurate bids for assigned opportunities. You will review drawings, specifications, addenda, and other bid documents, perform quantity takeoffs, and build pricing with input from vendors and subcontractors.

Reporting to the Pre-Construction Manager or Senior Estimator, you will collaborate with sales and operations to ensure bids align with scope, schedule, and customer expectations, while maintaining organized estimate

Qualifications

• Mid-level estimating role with experience and moderate supervision.
• Familiar with plan reading, specs, quantity takeoffs, and bid documentation.
• Able to manage assigned bid opportunities and coordinate pricing input.
• Progression shown by increased independence and leadership of others.

Responsibilities

• Prepare estimates for assigned projects in accordance with branch standards, bid requirements, and margin expectations.
• Review drawings, specifications, addenda, and other bid documents to understand scope and identify missing information.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and apply appropriate labor, material, equipment, production, and subcontractor pricing assumptions.
• Solicit, organize, and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing to confirm scope coverage and pricing competitiveness.
• Prepare bid forms, proposal language, inclusions, exclusions, alternates, and clarifications for review.
• Coordinate with sales and operations to confirm field conditions, schedule considerations, access constraints, and project execution needs.
• Participate in internal estimate reviews, handoff meetings, and post-bid follow-up.
• Maintain organized estimate files, pricing records, takeoff documentation, and bid history.
