Job summary

Western Alliance Bank is seeking an Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Senior Manager - Strategic Risk to lead program development, implementation, and continuous enhancement of enterprise risk management activities. You will oversee key initiatives including Risk ID, Risk Appetite reporting, and governance routines while driving improvements in program maturity.

The role requires 8+ years in risk-related roles, leadership experience, and deep knowledge of COSO/ Basel frameworks.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of related experience in Risk Management, Internal Audit, SOX, and/or Financial Institutions.
• Advanced knowledge of risk and control frameworks (COSO ERM, Basel, etc.).
• Bachelor's degree in related field required.
• Previous leadership experience required.
• Advanced knowledge across one or more of the three lines of defense (e.g., banking operations, information technology, SOX, compliance, risk management, audit).
• Advanced knowledge of risk management tools and Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Lead the execution and ongoing maturity of the Bank's Risk ID program, including methodology and reporting.
• Contribute to the Risk Appetite program and enterprise risk committee materials for senior audiences.
• Manage a small team (2-7) and drive continuous improvement.
