Job summary

Blue Cross NC is seeking a Director-level leader to shape the enterprise architecture and technology strategy. You will define strategic roadmaps, govern architecture standards, and drive cloud transformation while balancing risk, cost, and long-term value for a healthcare ecosystem.

You’ll collaborate with business and IT leaders to ensure architectural alignment with strategic objectives and compliance requirements, while mentoring a high-performing team and communicating ROI to executives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field with 15+ years IT experience, incl. 5+ years in technology leadership.
• Experience leading technology strategy and enterprise architecture in healthcare, with payer and provider exposure.
• Hands-on with modern tech stacks, cloud, APIs, data analytics, AI/ML, and observability practices.
• Strong strategic planning, roadmap development, and build/buy/reuse decision experience.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills; ability to influence executives.

Responsibilities

• Define and deliver enterprise technology strategies aligned to business growth and digital transformation.
• Establish architecture standards, governance, and reference architectures for security and scalability.
• Provide guidance on key technology decisions from solution architecture to platforms.
• Lead integration and modernization, including data interoperability and cloud initiatives.
• Mentor architecture teams and communicate value and ROI to leadership.
