Job summary

Eversource Energy in Hartford, CT; Westwood, MA; and Manchester, NH is seeking a Senior Analyst, Strategy and Economic Analysis to support the transmission business and the clean energy transition in New England. You will help develop market models and conduct economic analyses for ISO-NE using data from internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, Environmental Science, or four years of equivalent experience.
• Five to eight years related experience in energy market analysis, energy contract negotiation, power system modeling, or transmission planning.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Working knowledge of ISO-NE wholesale markets or transmission planning procedures.
• Experience with PowerBI for reporting and analyzing data.
• Experience with Python for data manipulation and API interactions.

Responsibilities

• Develop, troubleshoot, document, and maintain zonal and nodal energy market and capacity expansion models in PLEXOS, including pre-processing of data inputs and post-processing of results.
• Analyze, draw conclusions from, graph, and document the results of energy market simulations.
• Research and analyze relevant policies and studies that impact and influence the growth of Eversource’s transmission business and modeling assumptions.
• Support other groups within Eversource by providing data, simulation outputs, or relevant knowledge from the transmission business.
