Job summary

O-I seeks an Environmental, Health & Safety Manager for our Muskogee, OK manufacturing plant. The role partners with NA Environmental and Safety teams to drive regional EH&S policies, advise leadership, and embed EH&S into site culture across all programs.

The manager will lead plant safety, training, inspections, and regulatory compliance, including air, water, and hazardous materials regulations, with emphasis on continuous improvement and engagement of the workforce.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience in a manufacturing plant performing Environmental, Health and Safety activities.
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Experience with air permitting.
• Able to certify OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 training is preferred.
• Be able to implement, administer and advise others on hazard controls and hazard control programs.

Responsibilities

• Plan, promote, and follow-up on all phases of the plant safety program and drive the safety culture.
• Create and develop new methods and strategies to help engage employees in safety culture.
• Maintain accurate and complete records that meet regulatory requirements (RCRA, DOT, CAA, CWA, EPCRA, SARA, and local/state laws).
• Anticipate, identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices and control exposures to health hazards.
• Conduct mandated employee health and safety training programs.
• Participate in state and federal OSHA inspections.
• Act as the site contact for Worker’s Compensation issues.
• Conduct facility environmental training including SWPPP and SPCC.
