Job summary

IKO Industries Ltd. is seeking a Health, Safety & Environmental Engineer to lead the day-to-day implementation and continuous improvement of EHS programs on the plant floor, reporting to the Plant Manager and the Director of Health, Safety & Environmental. This is an on-the-floor, high-visibility role.

You will coach staff, conduct risk assessments, ensure regulatory compliance, investigate incidents and support SOPs and training to drive zero incidents across the operation.

Qualifications

• Requires a BA/BS degree in occupational safety, science, engineering or related discipline.
• Three to five years prior experience in a manufacturing setting working in a Health, Safety & Environmental Role.
• Professional EHS certification desired.

Responsibilities

• Implement safe working techniques and reinforce safety policies and procedures as set out by IKO and regulatory agencies.
• Actively coach peers, salaried and hourly employees on safety behaviors to improve and attain a goal of zero incidents.
• Investigate possible losses; evaluate risk; develop and audit corrective actions with Plant Manager and Corporate HSE.
• Prepare and maintain all plant environmental and regulator records; ensure reports are completed on time.
• Lead inspections by regulatory agencies and coordinate with Plant leadership on corrective actions.
