Job summary

Deloitte Insights in the United States seeks an Executive Editor to lead content strategy, editing quality, and audience-focused storytelling across digital formats. This role partners with the global editor in chief and supervises editors, researchers, and production professionals to deliver high-impact thought leadership.

The executive editor will coach writers, manage stakeholder relations, and drive continuous process improvements while ensuring accuracy, clarity, and compelling narratives

Qualifications

• 10+ years of editing experience in business journalism or thought leadership
• Excellent editing skills and ability to explain edits to authors
• Strong writing and communication skills for executive audiences
• Attention to detail with focus on quality and big-picture impact
• Outside‑in orientation toward audience needs
• Experience guiding writers and collaborating with subject matter experts
• Experience creating multimedia content guidance and quality oversight

Responsibilities

• Own content quality by setting and managing quality standards for Deloitte Insights
• Train and oversee editors on quality standards across publishing projects
• Champion audience needs to ensure stories are clear, engaging, and high-value
• Lead development and management of copyediting and fact-checking teams
• Guide editors in collaboration with authors to sharpen arguments and format decisions
• Improve editorial systems and workflows, exploring new tech/AI for efficiency and quality
• Promote responsible AI use, ensuring humans lead content decisions
• Advise authors on language, style, and storytelling effectiveness
• Lead special publishing programs like the Deloitte Insights video agenda
• Stay informed on storytelling trends and multichannel publishing innovations
