Deloitte Insights in the United States is seeking an executive editor to lead content development, quality, and value for our thought leadership. The executive editor will partner with the global editor in chief to oversee content development and quality across digital formats.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience in business journalism editing or business insights/thought leadership editing
• Bachelor's degree (preferably in English literature, journalism, communications, or similar)
• Exceptional editing skills with AP style
• Excellent writing and communication skills; ability to translate complex concepts for executives
• Attention to detail with ability to see the big picture
• Outside‑in orientation toward audience needs
• Versatile writing, editing, and storytelling across formats
• Extensive team leadership and performance management experience
• Stakeholder management and interpersonal skills for senior executives
• Ability to travel 0‑15%
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

Responsibilities

• Owning content quality: set and manage quality standards for Deloitte Insights content
• Training and supervising editors on quality standards across publishing projects
• Acting as audience champion and storytelling strategist for clear, compelling content
• Leading development of editorial talent and fact‑checking accuracy
• Managing editors in collaboration with the editor in chief and managing editor
• Leading process improvements for editorial systems and workflows
• Promoting responsible AI use in line with firm policies
• Advising authors and stakeholders on language and storytelling effectiveness
• Leading special publishing programs such as video program editorial standards
• Staying up to speed on storytelling trends and multichannel publishing innovations
