Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience in business journalism editing or business insights editing.
• Bachelor's degree in English literature, journalism, communications, or similar.
• Exceptional editing skills, mastery of conversational phrasing and AP style.
• Excellent writing and verbal communication; can translate complex concepts for executives.
• Detail-oriented with a big-picture perspective.
• Outside-in mindset focused on audience needs and interests.
• Versatile writing/editing across web copy, video scripts, and long-form reports.
• Extensive leadership experience and strong stakeholder management.
• Ability to travel 0–15% and work with senior stakeholders.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Own content quality: set standards for Deloitte Insights' top-tier research and insights.
• Train and manage editors on quality standards; provide second-eye review on content.
• Champion audience needs and ensure clear, compelling storytelling for multichannel formats.
• Lead editorial talent development, fact-checking, and terminology consistency.
• Guide collaboration with authors; sharpen arguments and format decisions.
• Improve editorial systems and workflows; test new tech/AI for efficiency and quality.
• Promote responsible AI use in line with firm policies.
• Advise authors on language usage, writing style, and storytelling effectiveness.
• Lead special publishing programs, including video editorial initiatives.
• Stay current on storytelling trends and multichannel publishing best practices.
