Job summary

Porter Pipe & Supply is seeking a General Manager to oversee the Indianapolis Distribution Center, providing strategic leadership for sales, profitability, and customer satisfaction. You will manage the DC's P&L, budget, and performance, while coaching leaders and ensuring operational excellence across warehousing, dispatch, and counter sales.

The role requires building strong partner relationships and driving continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 7 years in distribution/warehouse/supply chain with at least 3 years in a management role.
• Experience with budget management, cost control, labor planning, and KPI tracking.
• Experience establishing operational KPIs for safety, productivity, accuracy, and delivery.
• Wholesale/industrial distribution knowledge a plus; PVF industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for the Indianapolis Distribution Center to deliver growth and profitability.
• Own P&L, budget, and financial performance; work with CFO/VP Operations on priorities.
• Coach, mentor, and develop DC managers to strengthen leadership capability.
• Oversee warehouse operations, dispatch, counter sales, and related DC functions.
• Drive continuous improvement, align operations with customer needs, and ensure safety and compliance.
