Qualifications

• Strong executive presence and ability to engage high-profile stakeholders
• Eight to ten years’ experience in lobbying, public administration, political activity, or legislative staff work
• Deep knowledge of state health programs, Medicaid, state finance, and private healthcare dynamics
• Ability to develop and implement comprehensive state government affairs strategies
• Excellent analytical, writing, and interpersonal skills, with strong organizational abilities
• Willingness to travel domestically (40 percent)
• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred

Responsibilities

• Represent AbbVie in state matters and lead relationships with state and local governments
• Set lobbying and advocacy strategy to shape legislative and regulatory activity
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with policymakers and regulators
• Support site selection and regional investment initiatives
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to advance policy goals
• Develop and oversee budgets for regional state government affairs
• Ensure compliance with lobbying registrations and regulations
