Job summary

Qualifications

• Eight to ten years’ experience in lobbying, public administration, political party activity, legislative staff work, or related experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in related fields; advanced degree preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of Medicaid, state finance and appropriations processes and private healthcare marketplace dynamics.

Responsibilities

• Represent AbbVie's Illinois headquarters and lead strategic relationships with state and local government, economic development and community stakeholders to support business objectives.
• Set lobbying and advocacy strategy to shape state activity and engage policymakers, regulators, coalitions, and third-party groups.
• Cultivate relationships with governors, attorneys general, state legislators, and local officials to advance AbbVie's state policy goals.
• Support site selection initiatives and coordinate regional stakeholder engagement for future investment.
• Collaborate with internal teams to develop legislative, regulatory, policy, and political solutions tailored to the region.
