Job summary

Achievement First seeks a strategic Associate Chief, Special Services to lead services for students with disabilities and multilingual learners across New York, Connecticut, and Rhode Island. You will oversee regional program leads, ensuring 100% legal compliance and strong academic growth for scholars.

Reporting to the Chief of Academic Programs, you will set vision, manage a portfolio of schools, and coach leaders to deliver high-impact, compliant instructional services aligned with AF's

Qualifications

• Proven leadership in special education and multilingual learner services.
• Ability to set strategic vision and drive school-based outcomes.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional teams across districts.

Responsibilities

• Set the vision and strategy for Special Services across multiple regions.
• Lead regional Managing Directors and program leads with clear performance goals.
• Ensure IEPs, 504 plans and MLL services are implemented with fidelity and compliance.
• Develop and deliver professional development for school leaders.
• Monitor compliance data and drive targeted improvement actions.
• Collaborate with Legal, Operations and district partners to support scholars.
