Achievement First in CT seeks a strategic Managing Director of Special Services to lead disability and multilingual learner supports across New Haven, Bridgeport and Hartford. You will mentor 4–6 Directors, drive compliant programming, and elevate school outcomes.

Ideal candidates hold a Master’s in Education with CT certifications, with at least five years of district leadership and a strong equity lens. Compensation reflects experience with robust benefits and a no‑flexibility policy.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Education with emphasis on special education is required.
• CT #165 and CT #092 certifications preferred or immediate eligibility.
• Demonstrated track record in teaching students with disabilities/IEPs.
• Five+ years in school or district leadership roles.

Responsibilities

• Lead Special Services Directors and school leaders across Connecticut sites.
• Develop and coach directors, provide feedback, and support school visits.
• Strategize to deliver special services aligned with AF vision.
• Design professional development for the AF network on special services.
