Job summary

Columbus McKinnon in Charlotte, NC seeks a Director of Shared Services to lead North American accounting operations including AP, AR, payroll, and fixed assets. You will ensure US GAAP compliance, internal controls, and regulatory adherence while standardizing processes and driving automation and ERP optimization.

You will develop KPIs, partner with leaders on strategic initiatives, and build high-performing teams across multiple entities and locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
• 10+ years accounting and finance experience.
• 5+ years leading shared services teams (AP/AR/payroll/cash/expense/vendor mgmt).
• Experience in a multi-entity, multi-location, or complex organization.
• Proven process improvement and transformation leadership.
• ERP experience SAP, Oracle, Workday, or MS Dynamics.
• Travel 30%+ across CMCOs U.S. footprint.

Responsibilities

• Oversee shared services functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, cash management, expense administration, and vendor management.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, regulatory requirements, company policies, and internal control standards.
• Direct the preparation of accurate and timely management reports and audit support documentation.
• Drive operational excellence through process standardization, automation, continuous improvement, and ERP optimization initiatives.
• Develop and monitor KPIs, SLAs, and operational metrics to enhance efficiency and service delivery.
• Partner with business leaders to support strategic initiatives, financial planning, organizational growth, and business transformation efforts.
• Build, lead, and develop high-performing accounting and shared services teams, fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
• Manage departmental budgets, workforce planning, risk management activities, and organizational change initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
