Job summary

United Way of the National Capital Area seeks a strategic, relationship-driven Director of Institutional Giving to lead and grow funding from private and corporate foundations, government agencies, and other grantmaking bodies. The role oversees proposals, reports, and a grant writer, aligning with education, economic opportunity, health initiatives and Centennial Campaign goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum seven (7) years of institutional fundraising or nonprofit development experience.
• Experience leading and managing a team.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement an institutional giving strategy to increase revenue.
• Manage a portfolio of 50–75 funders and prospects.
• Lead high-quality letters of inquiry, proposals, and reports.
• Ensure grant compliance and timely deliverables.
• Mentor grant-writing staff and support cross-functional teams.
