Job summary

The Personal Care Products Council (PCPC) seeks a strategic, hands-on director of education and events to lead its educational programming and deliver exceptional live and virtual events while growing sponsorship and other non-dues revenue.

Reporting to the EVP of marketing, membership and events, the director will align education and events with PCPC’s priorities, build speakers and content, manage budgets, and guide improvements to strengthen member value and revenue across our portfolio.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive experience in association management, event management, or a related field, with demonstrated leadership responsibility.
• Bachelor’s degree required; CMP/CAE designation is a plus.
• Strong financial skills, including budget development, expense tracking, and executive reporting.
• Excellent written communication, public speaking, and presentation skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to balance priorities and meet deadlines.
• Willingness to roll up sleeves, execute hands-on planning and day-to-day responsibilities.
• Openness to embracing technology, including AI, to streamline workflows and enhance work quality.
• Strong customer service skills and ability to build relationships with members, sponsors, and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage educational strategy with a 12‑month plan for virtual, hybrid, and in‑person programming.
• Lead planning and execution for key events from site selection through post‑event reporting.
• Manage venue contracts, vendors, and event logistics; monitor budgets and performance.
• Create and manage sponsorships, exhibits, and revenue opportunities; track targets and renewals.
• Build standardized processes, playbooks, and team culture; align activities with strategic goals.
