Job summary

The University of Miami seeks a Director for Academic Resources to lead the Camner Academic Resource Center, overseeing tutoring, testing, disability services, and the Independent Learning Initiative. You will manage four unit managers, guide policy implementation, and drive data-informed decisions to promote student success.

In this role you will supervise personnel, manage budgets, collaborate with the Assistant Dean and Executive Director, and ensure operations align with university policies.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in education or related field; terminal degree preferred.
• Minimum seven years of progressive experience in higher education or related field.
• At least four years of supervisory or management experience overseeing professional staff.
• Proven leadership in academic support, student success, learning support, or disability services.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and supervision for disability services, tutoring, testing, and Independent Learning Initiative units.
• Oversee recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and staff development; manage payroll and personnel records.
• Coordinate disability accommodations appeal processes and partner with HR on employee relations.
• Use data to evaluate program effectiveness and inform strategic planning and budgeting.
• Oversee department budgeting, including expenditures and forecasts; prepare proposals for future funding.
