Job summary

Tufts Medicine seeks an experienced ambulatory operations leader to oversee the South and West region, including the Quincy and Middleton multispecialty locations. The role reports to the Vice President of Community Practice Operations and coordinates across ambulatory services to drive access, experience, and financial performance.

The role focuses on growth, operational excellence, revenue cycle optimization, and strategic initiatives that advance the practice network.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Seven (7) years of healthcare management or practice management experience working directly with physicians and practice members.
• This role reports to the VP of Community Practice Operations and oversees ambulatory operations across a region.

Responsibilities

• Directs the practice operations managers in day-to-day operations to ensure operational efficiency, fiscal stability and patient/employee satisfaction.
• Collaborates to implement best practice models and develops guidelines for prioritizing work activities and evaluating effectiveness.
• Evaluates practice efficiency across personnel using quality measures and survey data; implements new models to reduce cost and improve quality.
• Oversees budgets, reviews monthly P&L, identifies opportunities, and creates action plans with managers.
• Conducts monthly operations meetings and regular one-on-one meetings with each practice manager.
• Maintains policy and procedure manuals; standardizes processes across practices for consistency.
• Works with recruitment on onboarding activities for new practices and providers; ensures timely integration.
• Leads transition plans for newly acquired practices in collaboration with senior leaders.
• Collaborates to achieve high performance under managed risk contracts and supports value-based care initiatives.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare, or a related field

Associate’s degree in business, healthcare, or a related field and two (2) years of relevant business experience

High School Diploma or GED and four (4) years of relevant business experience

Seven (7) years of healthcare management or practice management experience
