Job summary

Meals on Wheels People is seeking a Director of Development to lead fundraising programs and philanthropic revenue initiatives in the Portland metro area. Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, this role manages major gifts, annual giving, grants, and donor relations to advance a culture of philanthropy.

You will oversee data management, gift processing, stewardship, and reporting while collaborating with leadership to grow donor engagement and sustainable funding across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business, marketing, or related field preferred.
• 7+ years of progressively responsible fundraising experience, including advancement services and campaigns.
• 3+ years of people management experience including coaching and performance management.
• Excellent relationship-building, communication, and presentation skills.
• Strong organizational and project management skills with multitasking ability.
• Experience with Raiser’s Edge required; other platforms preferred.
• Willingness to work evenings/weekends; valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee stewardship, data management, annual giving, and grants programs.
• Develop and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies to meet revenue goals.
• Partner with senior leadership to establish annual and multi-year fundraising plans and metrics.
• Manage a portfolio of major gift prospects and donors with cultivation and solicitation efforts.
• Collaborate with Marketing & Communications on donor communications and campaigns.
• Provide oversight for foundation, corporate, and government grant programs.
