Job summary

Cultivate Initiatives in Portland, OR is seeking a Director of Development & Relationships to lead fundraising, donor relations, and external partnerships. This executive role drives revenue strategy, cultivates major donors, and builds a sustainable funding portfolio aligned with the organization's mission.

Reporting to the Executive Director, you will shape cases for support, manage campaigns, and partner with the Board to expand philanthropic impact for the community.

Qualifications

• Significant fundraising leadership experience with proven revenue growth.
• Proven ability to cultivate and steward major donors and high-level partners.
• Experience building a comprehensive fundraising strategy across multiple revenue streams.
• Strong written and verbal communication to translate mission into compelling requests.
• Ability to cultivate authentic relationships with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement fundraising strategy aligned with Cultivate Initiatives’ mission and priorities.
• Lead major gifts, individual giving, and institutional funding programs.
• Cultivate, solicit, and steward high-level donors and funders.
• Partner with the Executive Director and Board to engage donors and secure support.
• Oversee donor stewardship and reporting to ensure accountability and impact.
• Represent Cultivate Initiatives at events and in community engagements.
