Job summary

Gladden Community House in Columbus, OH is seeking a Director of Development & Fundraising to lead a comprehensive fundraising strategy and elevate the organization's visibility across Central Ohio and beyond. Reporting to the President & CEO, this senior role will cultivate donor relationships, guide annual and major gifts, oversee fundraising communications, and support Gladden’s strategic plan.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, humanities, social sciences, or related discipline, or extensive relevant professional experience.
• At least five years of experience in professional sales, nonprofit business development, community relations, or a related field.
• A proven ability to develop and sustain long-term professional relationships.
• Demonstrated nonprofit experience as an employee or volunteer and a genuine passion for mission-driven work.
• Positive, engaging leadership and a collaborative, collegial approach.
• Strong organizational, written, verbal, and relationship-management skills.
• Proficiency with technology, databases, current applications, and social media.
• Experience with nonprofit boards, fundraising events, grant writing, proposals, business cases, or CRM systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy.
• Identify, research, cultivate, solicit, and steward relationships with donors.
• Partner with CEO and leadership to advance fundraising goals.
• Collaborate with Board of Directors to set priorities and report progress.
• Lead marketing and communications strategies for fundraising.
• Monitor results with data, maintain CRM and reporting.
• Ensure compliance with legal and ethical fundraising practices.
• Represent Gladden at public events and build community partnerships.
• Contribute to strategic direction and team leadership as needed.
