Job summary

Literacy Source, a community learning center in Seattle, seeks a Development & Communications Manager to coordinate annual fundraising and communications to promote programs and donor development. You will partner with the Development Director and committee to steward relationships, write appeals, plan events, and manage donor communications.

The role involves donor research, data management, grant support, and producing communications across website, newsletters, and social media.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years experience in nonprofit fundraising.
• Experience with appeal writing and event management.
• Excellent verbal, written, and e-mail communication skills.
• Ability to craft engaging social media posts, flyers and graphics.
• Ability to interact with diverse stakeholders respectfully.
• Experience with donor databases and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Support Development Plan creation with the Development Director and committee.
• Cultivate and grow individual donor engagement and stewardship.
• Plan and execute email campaigns and thank-you letters.
• Coordinate end-of-year appeals and related communications.
• Draft general fundraising communications as needed.
• Maintain the Development Plan and track KPIs toward goals.
• Assist with donor database management and reporting.
• Support planned giving materials and inquiries.
• Provide logistics for committee and board fundraising activities.
• Assist with grant writing and reporting.
• Maintain SOPs and Development notebooks.
