Job summary

The Seattle Symphony is seeking a Development Communications Manager to power annual giving and donor engagement through compelling communications and stewardship. This high-volume role supports donors for Friends of the Symphony and Symphony Club campaigns, working closely with the Director of Strategic Communications.

Ideal candidates will have 2+ years in nonprofit fundraising, strong writing, and experience with donor databases and campaign planning in a fast-paced team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in nonprofit fundraising communications or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of nonprofit fundraising or donor communications experience.
• Familiarity with fundraising campaigns (annual appeals, year-end giving, memberships).
• Excellent writing skills for donor-centric communications.
• Experience with donor databases and email platforms.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute fundraising communications under the Director of Strategic Communications.
• Draft donor-centric appeals, stewardship messages and campaign content.
• Support annual fundraising campaigns (GiveBIG, year-end, subscriptions).
• Manage day-to-day campaign logistics across print and digital channels.
• Coordinate with in-house design to produce fundraising assets.
• Contribute ideas to improve donor engagement and cross-department planning.
• Maintain project tracking in Asana and ensure timely delivery.
• Provide general support to the Development department; assist at events.
