Job summary

Key to Change is hiring a Communications & Development Manager in Renton, WA. This role leads narrative, digital engagement, fundraising communications, and donor development, turning audience interest into action and sustaining long‑term relationships.

Reporting to the Director of Strategic Relationships & Partnerships, you will manage outbound communications, lead management, and Salesforce data quality, coordinating with the Executive Director and staff to advance the mission through

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of progressively responsible professional experience in nonprofit development, communications, digital marketing, donor relations, or a closely related field.
• Exceptional professional writing, editing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills.
• Experience using a CRM to manage donors, customers, prospects, leads, interactions, and follow-up (Salesforce preferred).
• Experience with donor prospect research, moves management, and donor portfolio management.

Responsibilities

• Write polished, compelling copy for website, e-newsletters, fundraising appeals, donor communications, annual reports, program announcements, impact stories, campaign materials, and publications.
• Develop and maintain communications calendars and workflows to engage audiences and drive action.
• Manage e-newsletter strategy, including segmentation, scheduling, testing, and performance analysis.
• Develop donor segmentation and personalized communication strategies based on giving history and engagement.
• Track campaign performance, donor retention, response rates, conversion, upgrades, and other fundraising indicators.
