Job summary

Health & Human Services Commission (HHSC) in Austin, Texas seeks a seasoned Financial Reporting Director to lead the Financial Reporting and Audit Coordination team. You will direct validation and reconciliation of self-reported data from MCOs, DMOs, and MMPs and drive policy, procedures, and oversight for all contract deliverables.

The role requires extensive Medicaid/CHIP experience, strategic leadership, and ability to work with HHSC Finance, aud&it teams, and external reviewers.

Qualifications

• At least two years’ experience in management or direction of a program preferably related to Medicaid, commercial managed care or other public sector health care enterprise.
• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in finance or accounting; substitute guidance for relevant work experience may apply.
• Ability to identify problems, evaluate alternatives, and implement effective solutions; to communicate effectively; and to supervise others.

Responsibilities

• Directs activities and functions of the Financial Reporting team and supervises staff.
• Oversees development of Financial Reporting Policies and Procedures and contract language changes.
• Provides guidance to MCS program areas and HHSC Finance staff on FSR usage and interpretation.
• Responds to information requests from internal auditors, state auditors, and other authorities.
• Reviews MCO non-compliance and recommends sanctions and remedies.
• Coordinates with team leads to instruct MCOs on new contractual requirements.
