Job summary

Connecticut College is seeking a Deputy Chief Information Officer (Deputy CIO) / Acting Director of Enterprise Systems within Library & Information Technology. The role leads technology strategy, operations, and critical enterprise systems initiatives, with a transitional period overseeing the Enterprise Systems team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree strongly preferred.
• 7+ years in higher education IT leadership or equivalent.
• Experience leading enterprise systems projects; ERP experience valued.
• Ability to drive technology strategy aligned with institutional goals.
• Strong change management and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and lead through transformation.

Responsibilities

• Serve as operational and strategic technology leader for Library & Information Technology.
• Provide interim leadership to the Enterprise Systems team during transitions.
• Supervise and develop key IT leaders and engineers.
• Ensure projects are scoped, resourced, and delivered to align with strategic goals.
• Lead development of a technology roadmap including cloud and IAM.
• Partner with Information Security to ensure security and compliance by design.
• Collaborate with campus stakeholders to deliver equitable, mission-aligned services.
• Assess opportunities for infrastructure modernization and disaster recovery planning.
• Manage vendor evaluations and major contracts.
