Job summary

Boston Consulting Group in the United States is seeking a Defense & Security Sector Manager within the Public Sector Practice to lead the sector strategy, drive business development, and coordinate with global and regional teams.

You will manage budgets, develop staffing plans, mentor senior advisers, and help deliver client events and thought leadership. The role requires 8–10 years' experience, US citizenship, and strong leadership in a matrix organization.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• 8–10 years of relevant experience.
• Role related certifications preferred.
• Ability to manage and drive area of accountabilities, contributing to higher level agenda setting.
• Ability to lead more complex, broader sub functional teams or projects fully independently.
• Strong interpersonal skills, credibility.
• Ability to influence senior members of the sector and beyond.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Advanced knowledge in Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute sector strategy and annual plans.
• Identify new business opportunities and drive business development activities.
• Contribute to sector IP and thought leadership through publications and speaking engagements.
• Own and monitor sector budget and report performance and budget utilization.
• Develop people plan and staffing support; coordinate recruitment with HR.
• Lead sector meetings, internal communications, and client events in coordination with marketing.
