Job summary

Planet is seeking a senior Business Development Manager to advance Planet’s solutions to DoD operational challenges with Combatant Commands. You will shape requirements, budgets, and procurement processes, and lead responses to RFIs, White Papers, and RFPs while engaging mission stakeholders.

You will build a strong defense-focused pipeline, collaborate with USG Sales and Product teams, and travel to Washington, DC as needed to align strategies with warfighter needs.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant experience in business development, defense or related fields.
• Experience working with US DoW Combatant Commands, Service Elements, and/or Intelligence Community preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with senior civilian leaders and military officials.
• Proven track record of building strategic opportunities and managing capture processes.

Responsibilities

• Identify and qualify new business opportunities with DoD and related defense entities.
• Lead development and execution of capture strategies and procurement responses (RFIs, White Papers, Unsolicited Proposals, RFPs).
• Educate stakeholders on Planet capabilities and align solutions with warfighter needs.
• Build and manage a long-term defense and intelligence pipeline; coordinate with cross-functional teams.
• Collaborate with USG Sales, Account Executives, and Government Affairs on policy and pricing.
