Job summary

Planet designs, builds, and operates the largest constellation of imaging satellites. This Arlington, VA-based role leads BD with US Combatant Commands, Service Elements, and the IC to deliver Planet solutions.

You will own the full business development lifecycle—from identifying needs to shaping budgets and procurement, pursuing RFIs/RFPs, and guiding captures with cross‑functional teams.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant defense business development experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Experience with US DoW Combatant Commands, Service Elements, and the IC.
• Knowledge of DoW PEOs and budgetary entities.
• Ability to communicate with senior civilian leadership and flag officers.
• Experience forging relationships with Defense and Intelligence organizations.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Build trusted relationships with Combatant Commands and defense partners.
• Create strategy to align Planet solutions with DoW operations.
• Engage in forums, events, and acquisition cycles to understand missions.
• Develop long-term defense pipelines and identify opportunities.
• Collaborate with Sales, Proposals, and Product on positioning and pricing.
• Coordinate RFIs and RFPs to align with strategy.
• Support strategic planning, competitive intelligence, and market assessments.
