M&T Bank is seeking a Data Management Program professional to guide governance, data quality, and analytics for the Buffalo unit. You will implement program components, train teams, and lead data stewardship efforts across business and technology groups.

The role requires strong communication, analytical skills, and project leadership. You will work with cross-functional teams to embed data management practices and deliver measurable business value while adhering to risk and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of relevant work experience, or a combined minimum of 9 years of higher education and/or work experience with at least 5 years relevant work.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated analytical ability and creative problem solving.
• Strong project management leadership and cross-functional team coordination.
• Proficiency with spreadsheets, graphing and presentations; working knowledge of financial models.

Responsibilities

• Manage implementation of the Data Management Program within the assigned unit.
• Facilitate data management-related working groups.
• Develop understanding of data management practices and current industry trends.
• Measure compliance with policies and standards for assigned units.
• Identify critical data elements and capture related metadata.
• Monitor data quality via enterprise KPIs/KRIs to manage data risk.
• Facilitate remediation of data management-related issues.
• Analyze large data sets to derive business insights and value.
• Demonstrate usage of data management and BI tools to stakeholders.
• Adhere to risk, regulatory standards, controls and audit requirements.
