Job summary

Amgen in Thousand Oaks seeks a Director, Strategic Data Lead to shape data strategy across priority commercial areas, translating brand priorities into actionable data plans and sourcing recommendations.

You will collaborate with Brand teams, Data Management, Legal, Privacy, and external partners to ensure proper data use, governance, and impactful insights that drive launch readiness and brand performance.

Qualifications

• Doctorate or advanced degree with substantial data analytics experience and leadership responsibilities.
• Experience managing people and leadership roles in data strategy, analytics, or commercial data operations.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management across senior leadership and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic data partnerships across priority commercial areas and translate brand priorities into data opportunities.
• Frame data use cases from business and customer angles, defining data needs and expected business value.
• Develop and present data opportunity briefs, vendor options, feasibility, risks, and investment rationale.
• Establish and own the prioritization framework for data opportunities across competing needs.
• Coordinate with Data Management, Data Science, Legal, Privacy, Compliance, Procurement, and vendors to execute approved data strategies.
