Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an experienced procurement professional to support our Data Center Solutions group. You will manage tactical procurement of commodities, coordinate with supervisors, and strive for best pricing while maintaining key supplier relationships.

The role requires 7+ years in purchasing for manufacturing, strong Excel skills, and the ability to travel up to 10%. A two-year degree and familiarity with SAGE 300 or inventory systems are preferred.

Qualifications

• Two-year degree in an appropriate field (Purchasing/Supply Chain Management, Finance, Business Administration).
• 7+ years of related purchasing experience in industrial or manufacturing environments.
• Proven intermediate level Excel skills and strong written/verbal communication.
• Ability to travel as needed (10%).
• Able to establish professional relationships with vendors and teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide supply chain management support to project engineering and Silent-Aire departments.
• Conduct data capture, analyses, and transactions; review requisitions and prepare bids.
• Assist with complex investigations, documentation, and analyses under senior staff.
• Interact with vendors regarding procurement procedures and order status.
• Maintain vendor files and price lists per policy and SOX rules.
• Support statistical/historical data efforts: validate, reconcile, and process receipts and invoices.
• Assist with continuous improvement of supply chain systems and processes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
