Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a procurement professional to support our Data Center Solutions and Silent-Aire groups. You will manage tactical procurement of commodities, supplies, equipment, and services to be used by the organization, coordinating with supervisors to maintain inventory and securing favorable prices while building strategic supplier relationships.

Qualifications

• Two-year degree in Purchasing/Supply Chain Management, Finance, or Business Administration.
• 7+ years purchasing in industrial or manufacturing environments.
• Excel aptitude and strong communication skills for building vendor relations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Ability to travel ~10%.
• Experience with SAGE 300 purchasing or similar inventory systems.
• SCMP, APICS, and/or ISM accreditation preferred.
• Financial acumen and sourcing/purchasing experience for electrical and mechanical components.

Responsibilities

• Procure commodities, supplies, equipment, and services at the best price for the company.
• Coordinate with supervisors to maintain inventory levels.
• Analyze requisitions, prepare bids, create supporting spreadsheets, and compare products/prices.
• Interact with vendors to expedite orders and manage price changes/back orders.
• Maintain vendor files and price lists per policy and audit guidelines.
• Support data, validate receiving reports and supplier invoices.
