Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a procurement professional to support senior buyers and the purchasing manager in acquiring materials, components, supplies, and services. You will help optimize inventory, lead times, and supplier performance while ensuring quality and cost targets are met.

This role requires a bachelor's degree in business or equivalent, 2–5 years in purchasing or inventory control, strong communication, negotiation skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office; APICS certification

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent experience.
• 2–5 years experience in purchasing or production and inventory control.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment.
• Negotiation skills required.
• Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office.
• APICS certification desirable

Responsibilities

• Supports senior buyers and purchasing manager on procurement issues.
• Procures materials to meet inventory, cost, quality, and customer requirements.
• Maintains data integrity of ERP system and assists with supplier qualification and set-up.
• Places purchase orders and communicates forecasting requirements to suppliers.
• Determines economical lot size and supplier lead times for components.
• Supports supplier cost reduction and lead-time reduction projects.
• Supports inventory management programs including vendor stocking and VMI.
• Writes contracts and supports contract administration for standard products.
