Job summary

Balfour Beatty is seeking a Senior Preconstruction Leader to provide strategic leadership, day-to-day oversight, and best-practice guidance for mission-critical data center projects across multiple campuses.

You will lead conceptual estimating, budgeting, value engineering, procurement strategy, and risk management while coordinating with hubs, operations, design, estimators, procurement, and project controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 12–15 years of commercial construction experience, including 8–10 years of preconstruction experience on mission critical or data center projects.
• Experience delivering hyperscale, colocation, enterprise, or other mission critical facilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead all phases of preconstruction from project pursuit through GMP development and turnover to Operations.
• Manage multiple data center projects with budgets, GMPs, procurement packages, and schedules.
• Conduct constructability reviews, value engineering, and procurement strategy development.
• Establish estimating standards across civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, and technology systems.
• Lead subcontractor procurement activities and develop strategic relationships with key partners.
• Provide executive-level budget and schedule reporting and coordinate site due diligence and permitting strategies.
• Support standardized data center delivery models and continuous improvement initiatives.
