Job summary

United Rentals, the world’s largest equipment rental provider, is seeking a Credit Specialist to assess, negotiate, and collect on open accounts receivable. You will serve as the liaison between customers and branches, helping maintain positive relationships while supporting the Credit Playbook goals.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, 3–5 years of finance experience, strong Excel skills, and a customer-focused approach to resolving disputes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
• 3-5 years of related finance experience (collection experience preferred)
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
• Ability to complete complex account reconciliations with a customer-focused approach
• Web-Based Workflow Solution software experience preferred
• Strong math and verbal/written communication skills
• Superior organizational and time-management skills
• Valid Driver's license is required

Responsibilities

• Meeting established goals and objectives as determined by Credit Playbook/Credit Management
• Contacting customers and collecting past due balances for assigned AR portfolio through calls, email, letters
• Collect, review, evaluate and prepare credit recommendations for Credit Supervisor
• Assist in negotiating payment arrangements
• Communicate progress with Credit Management Team
• Work with field operations to review and resolve customer billing issues
• Resolve information requests, invoicing and disputes from customers
• Other duties as needed
