Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Procurement Manager to own sourcing and purchasing of raw materials and functional ingredients for a fast-growing CPG portfolio in Chicago, IL. This on-site role drives cost efficiency and supplier strategy to support rapid growth across DTC and retail.

You will collaborate with Product, Operations, Finance, and Supply Chain leadership, build scalable processes, and influence gross margin through strategic sourcing and vendor optimization.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in procurement, strategic sourcing, purchasing, or supply chain within CPG, food & beverage, supplements, or related industries.
• Experience sourcing raw materials, functional ingredients, nutraceutical ingredients, or other specialty ingredients.
• Strong negotiations, pricing, MOQs, lead times, contracts, and vendor management.
• Experience with contract manufacturers, co-packers, 3PLs, and ingredient suppliers.
• Strong analytical and financial skills to evaluate pricing, landed costs, and product economics.
• Cross-functional collaboration with Product Development, Operations, Finance, and Supply Chain teams.
• Excellent communication and relationship-management skills.
• Highly organized with multiple suppliers, SKUs, projects and competing priorities.
• Experience in a high-growth CPG or startup environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end procurement and sourcing of raw materials, functional ingredients, and packaging components.
• Identify, evaluate and develop relationships with domestic and international ingredient suppliers, manufacturers and vendors.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, MOQs, lead times, contracts, and supply agreements to optimize cost and ensure supply.
• Partner with Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, Product Development and Sales to align purchasing with demand forecasts.
• Monitor pricing, supplier capacity, lead times and market conditions to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Develop and maintain a qualified supplier base and backup sources for critical ingredients.
• Manage purchase orders to ensure materials are ordered, delivered, and available for production.
• Collaborate with contract manufacturers and suppliers to resolve quality, availability, and delivery issues.
• Support new product development by sourcing ingredients, obtaining quotes, and evaluating supplier capabilities.
• Establish scalable procurement processes, systems and reporting for growth across DTC and retail.
• Analyze purchasing data and develop reporting on spend, supplier performance, lead times and cost savings.
