Grand Traverse County is seeking a County Planner to support long-range planning, zoning administration, and community development. You will analyze land use, prepare reports, and advise boards, developers, and residents on planning matters.

The role engages with municipalities, regional agencies, and the public, contributing to master plans and grant projects while maintaining comprehensive planning records and coordinating with staff across departments.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in urban planning or related field.
• 3 years planning/ zoning experience preferred.
• Experience with zoning administration and special land uses preferred.
• Experience supporting boards and public engagement preferred.
• Equivalent education/experience may be considered.
• AICP certification is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Support planning initiatives with data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
• Prepare reports, staff recommendations, presentations, maps, and supporting materials for boards and leadership.
• Contribute to master plans, subarea plans, and long-range planning efforts.
• Support grant-related planning initiatives and project implementation.
• Coordinate with municipalities, regional agencies, consultants, and community stakeholders.
• Present planning information and recommendations to elected officials, boards, and the public.
• Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external partners.
• Maintain planning records, databases, and project documentation.
