Job summary

Turner & Townsend in Seattle is seeking a Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor to join our growing team and support the delivery of construction cost management services across a diverse portfolio of projects throughout the Pacific Northwest.

The ideal candidate will have strong cost management and quantity surveying experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities across a range of construction projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Cost Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or related field.
• 3–5 years of cost management, quantity surveying, or commercial management in construction.
• RICS accreditation or progress toward accreditation preferred.
• Experience supporting cost management on medium to large-scale projects.
• Construction consultancy experience strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of procurement, value engineering and cost management principles.
• Strong verbal and written communication; ability to build and maintain client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Advising clients on procurement strategies, managing vendor prequalification, assessing proposals and bids, and supporting contractor appointments.
• Managing estimating services across the project lifecycle, developing and reviewing cost estimates, and presenting VE recommendations.
• Managing cost reporting with schedules, budgets, forecasts, and risk registers; leading cost meetings.
• Overseeing cost control processes including payment reviews, change orders, and dispute avoidance.
• Managing and monitoring project invoicing processes.
• Benchmarking project performance against market data and similar projects.
• Leading final account negotiations, post-contract audits and closeout activities.
• Conducting post-project reviews and documenting lessons learned.
• Developing handover procedures and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
• Utilizing cost estimating, takeoff and project controls tools.
• SOX control responsibilities may apply where relevant.
