Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking a Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor to join our Boston team. You will lead cost management on a diverse portfolio of projects, advising on procurement, budgeting, and risk management while mentoring junior staff.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a construction field and 3–5 years’ experience, with potential for RICS accreditation. Base salary ranges from $100k to $135k USD, plus bonuses and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering, or a related construction field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in cost management or quantity surveying within construction.
• RICS accreditation is valuable or currently being pursued.
• Experience supporting cost management on medium to large-scale construction projects.
• Construction consultancy experience strongly preferred.
• Good knowledge of procurement routes, value management, and value engineering; strong communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on cost and procurement strategies and manage vendor qualification and bid processes.
• Develop project estimates for full lifecycles, review junior staff work, and present costs to clients.
• Provide value engineering recommendations and risk assessments; challenge costs with benchmark data.
• Oversee cost reporting, budgets, and spend forecasts; maintain risk registers and host project reviews.
• Manage payment applications, change orders, and contractual matters; ensure alignment with financial controls.
• Benchmark performance and drive best practices across projects; monitor final accounting and closeouts.
• Lead post-contract reviews and document lessons learned for future delivery.
