Job summary

Exelixis in Alameda, CA seeks a Cost & Collaboration Accounting Manager to oversee managerial accounting for cost, inventory, CMC R&D accruals and in-licensing collaborations, interfacing with PSC, FP&A and audit teams.

The role entails monthly close, journal entries, balance sheet analysis and driving process improvements while ensuring SOX compliance. CPA preferred; strong communication and detail orientation are essential. Competitive salary and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in related discipline with 7+ years of experience; or MS/MA with 5+ years; or equivalent mix.
• CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
• Experience in Auditing, Accounting or Cost Accounting.
• Pharma/biotech industry experience preferred.
• General knowledge of accounting/finance principles and theory.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong analytical and business communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple tasks under deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Participate in monthly, quarterly and year-end close processes.
• Prepare and review journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Analyze inventory, COGS, and in-licensing collaboration accounts.
• Review CMC R&D accruals and related financial reporting.
• Perform various SG&A/COGS reconciliations and commentary for management.
• Collaborate with PSC, FP&A and cross-functional teams for accuracy.
• Drive process improvements in inventory, COGS and collaboration accounting.
• Oversee SOX-related activities and external audit requests.
• Provide training and support to staff; support other projects as needed.
