Job summary

Biopharma Careers seeks a Cost & Collaboration Accounting Manager to provide managerial level accounting support for cost and inventory accounting, CMC R&D costs and in-licensing collaboration agreements. This role interfaces daily with PSC, FP&A, Alliance Management and G/L teams to ensure complete and accurate financial reporting.

Qualifications

• BS/BA degree with 7 years of related experience; or MS/MA with 5 years; or equivalent.
• CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
• Experience in Auditing, Accounting or Cost Accounting.
• Experience with one of the four major accounting firms preferred.
• Experience in pharmaceutical and biotech industries preferred.
• General knowledge of accounting/finance principles and theory.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
• Strong analytical and business communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work on multiple projects under tight deadlines.
• Ability to interact cooperatively and work as a team.
• Demonstrated success in problem solving.
• SAP software proficiency - highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Actively participate in monthly, quarterly, and year-end close with journal entries and reconciliations.
• Perform cost accounting activities including standard costs and inventory analyses.
• Review monthly reconciled general ledger accounts for inventory and COGS.
• Conduct balance sheet and income statement flux analysis with commentary.
• Collaborate with PSC, FP&A and cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy of COGS and inventory balances.
• Drive process improvements in inventory, COGS, and R&D accruals.
• Support Accounting Operations and other projects.
• Oversee SOX-related cost, inventory, and accrual activities and audits.
• Provide training to new and existing staff.
• Engage with senior management to promote continuous improvement.
