Job summary

WeldFit is seeking a detail-oriented Cost Analyst to own costing integrity, inventory valuation, and manufacturing variance analysis. You will translate shop floor activity into accurate financial information for leadership, owning job profitability and margins.

The ideal candidate combines shop floor and ERP experience, with advanced Excel and financial modeling skills, able to explain cost drivers to finance and operations leaders including board-level audiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance/economics or related field.
• CPA/CMA/MBA is a plus.
• 4+ years cost accounting or manufacturing financial analysis experience.
• ERP experience with Infor Cloud Suite Industrial / SyteLine preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling.
• GAAP inventory costing knowledge (ASC 330) and cost variance analysis.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update costing (material, labor, overhead) and quantify P&L and inventory impact.
• Develop labor and overhead burden rates; monitor absorption vs. actual spending.
• Analyze manufacturing variances and report P&L impact with root-cause.
• Review BOMs and routings in ERP; collaborate with engineering to correct cost distortions.
• Own inventory valuation and reserve analysis, cycle counts, and reconciliations.
• Perform margin analysis across products and field service work.
• Support quotes with cost build-ups; evaluate make-vs-buy and capex decisions.
• Build and refine financial models for forecasting and strategic planning.
• Assist with annual budgeting, headcount, and volume assumptions.
• Validate data across multiple sources; drive cost-reporting automation in ERP.
• Identify discrepancies and troubleshoot data issues proactively.
• Create standard and ad-hoc cost reports and dashboards for leadership.
• Manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
