Job summary

LexisNexis Legal & Professional, part of RELX, seeks a Corporate Counsel to provide legal advice across multiple disciplines and mentor teams on policy and decision-making. You will help shape templates, playbooks, and best practices to drive efficient business operations and compliance.

The role requires JD and bar admission, with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly to internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Bar admission in good standing.
• Advanced ability to interpret and apply laws, regulations and internal policies.
• Strong written and verbal communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deliver the organization's legal services with guidance from senior colleagues.
• Provide specialist advice on the interpretation and application of policies and procedures, resolving complex or contentious queries and issues.
• Contribute to the formation of a key element of functional strategy through specialist expertise and insights, to ensure that the strategy meets business needs.
• Draft policies, procedures, and related guidelines within an area of expertise to meet defined key principles and ensure compliance with external requirements.
• Act as subject matter expert in an area of technology, policy, regulation, or operational management for the team. Maintain external accreditations and in-depth understanding of current and emerging external regulation and industry best practices through continuing professional development, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.
• Develop stakeholder engagement by identifying stakeholders; by finding out their needs, issues, and concerns; and by reacting to these needs, issues, and concerns to support the communication of business information and decisions.
• Develop and maintain practical templates, playbooks, and best practices to support consistent legal review, improve stakeholder understanding, and help the business move matters forward efficiently.
