Job summary

American Battery Technology Company is seeking a Corporate Controller to lead the accounting and finance function as the organization scales. You will own SEC reporting, lead SOX readiness, advance ICFR, and optimize cost accounting for manufacturing and inventory.

Qualifications

• Active CPA license.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 12+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Minimum 5 years in a public‑company controllership, SEC reporting, or technical accounting leadership role.
• Deep expertise in US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
• Demonstrated experience preparing and filing Forms 10‑K, 10‑Q, and 8‑K.
• Experience designing and maintaining ICFR and SOX compliance programs.
• Manufacturing and cost accounting experience.
• Experience managing external audits with a PCAOB‑registered audit firm.
• Strong leadership experience managing accounting organizations through periods of rapid growth.

Responsibilities

• Own the preparation, review, and timely filing of Forms 10‑Q, 10‑K, 8‑K, Proxy Statements, earnings support schedules, and other SEC reporting requirements.
• Lead technical accounting research, documentation, and position papers for complex transactions.
• Oversee manufacturing accounting, inventory valuation, standard costing, capitalization, inventory reserves, fixed asset accounting, variance analysis, and cost of goods sold reporting.
• Lead the company's SOX readiness program, including documentation, testing, remediation, risk assessments, process design, and management of internal and external advisors.
• Design and maintain ICFR; identify deficiencies and implement corrective actions.
• Drive finance systems strategy, ERP optimization, reporting automation, close acceleration, and scalable accounting processes.
• Prepare and present financial reporting, technical accounting analyses, SOX updates, and significant accounting judgments to executives, Audit Committee, and Board.
• Ensure timely closing of monthly, quarterly, and annual books per US GAAP.
• Interact with external auditors and accounting advisors during audits.
• Lead, train, and motivate accounting staff to sustain performance and growth.
