Job summary

American Battery Solutions Inc. is seeking an Assistant Controller to partner with the Controller and guide accounting operations across AP, AR, GL, and financial reporting. You will help ensure GAAP compliance and strong internal controls while supporting process improvements and cross-functional collaboration with Komatsu.

This role is based in Lake Orion, MI, and is full-time. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in accounting and at least five years of progressive accounting

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of five (5) years of progressive accounting experience including month-end close and GL management.
• Experience supporting external audits and GAAP compliance.
• Strong Excel skills with pivot tables, lookups, and advanced formulas.

Responsibilities

• Prepare closing journal entries and reconciliations; research and correct discrepancies.
• Assist in monthly financial statement analysis and reporting.
• Review financial statements for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Own accounts receivable processes including PO review, invoicing, and collections.
• Oversee accounts payable activities including invoice entry and vendor payments.
• Perform balance sheet and income statement analyses; provide insights.
